Columbus Wedding at Jorgensen Farms
You could put photos from Christine and Josh’s wedding into the dictionary next to the definition of celebration, as after 12 years together, the two were finally able to say “I do” in front of their friends and family (I say family instead of families because after 12 years their families became one a long time ago). After Covid forced them to push back the wedding for over a year after the original date, everyone (myself included) was iiiitching to get this party going.
Christine & Josh met at a bowling alley when they were teenagers, and honestly selfishly, thank god they did (for many reasons, but for this very specific niche reason- ) because they had multiple slideshows running during their reception with photos from the last 12 years and the photos of them going to high school dances together were *chefs kiss*. It was so touching seeing how deeply both sets of parents love their new child-in-law so deeply, so to reiterate, this wasn’t a joining of two families, but a celebration of two sets of families who have already been enmeshed for a long time.
More evidence of how amazing these two are came from their friends. Their friends could not have spoken more highly of (and roasted) them than they did during their toasts. And each person who took the microphone had just as many incredible things (and playful jabs) to say about both of them, after so many years of friendship with them both.
Other highlights include: a quick appearance from their cat & dog for some ADORABLE family photos (coming later), their private vow reading that was a damn tear jerker, their public vow reading which was an even bigger damn tear jerker, the most stunning venue with too many beautiful backdrops to count, a very well-rehearsed first dance and a whole lot of sore faces from the nonstop smiling we all did the whole day.
Everyone who meets these two and gets to observe their love is so lucky. I’m beyond thankful that our Buckeye and Chicago connection brought them my way. These are two extremely special people. Christine & Josh, you & your love are so easy to celebrate 🤍
Christine’s 5-star review: “To put it simply, Gretchen is the BEST! My words are going to fall short of just how incredibly talented she is as a photographer and how wonderful she is as a person (but I'll do my best). Gretchen has mastered the art of balance- she is both professional and hysterical, kind and direct, creative and authentic. We truly could not have asked for a better person or photographer to capture our engagement shoot and wedding day. Not only are our pictures my favorite, but every picture she takes is the best photographed on my social media feed (i truly stop and admire every photo she takes/posts). Gretchen is able to capture genuine and authentic moments while making the entire experience of being in front of the camera more fun and comfortable than I ever could have imagined. I could not recommend Gretchen more!”
